The Role
We're hiring a Lead Brand Designer to join our team to shepherd and shape the Loom brand and personality in a player/coach role. This person will be a strong craft and people-focused leader, who embodies the values we seek in our design leaders to lead with empathy and resilience.
As a coach, you'll lead the brand team, managing 1 IC designer to evolve the loom brand strategically as the market leader in video messaging for work. You will be a brand champion and a trusted leader to colleagues across the organization, and work with leadership to develop how the brand of Loom impacts the business and growth of the company directly.
As a player, you'll work on things like: product launch campaigns, refining and scaling loom.com , and evolving our "Thread" design system. You'll partner with marketing, growth, demand gen, lifecycle, events.... anywhere where we want to communicate the Loom mission and brand promise including the Loom product itself. You'll help own the mission of helping teams foster meaningful and humane communication at work, reaching millions of people that already use Loom every day.
Your Responsibilities

  • Foster and develop career growth of our brilliant and talented IC designers
  • Creative leader and owner of the Loom brand and personality to make Loom a compelling and engaging destination for video messaging at work.
  • Partner with Atlassian's brand team in order to ensure we're speaking as a cohesive brand family, defining our evolving brand strategy
  • You'll work alongside an incredibly talented team of Designers, Product Marketing Managers, Producers, Engineers and Growth Marketers to convey Loom as a delightful continuum across every touchpoint of the customer experience. Design brand marketing materials such as landing pages, video, social, illustrations
  • Coach the evolution of the "Thread" Brand Design System, identifying opportunities to refine the system and advance its efficiency and expressiveness.
  • Partner with design leadership to build a healthy and collaborative work and Design culture at Loom and at Atlassian


What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience in Design organizations that have shipped software to users, working closely cross-functional teammates and taking a lead role in executing on a pre-defined brand / marketing strategy. Experience at a technology focused product-led company or agency is preferred.
  • An outstanding portfolio, with presentable case studies showcasing a foundation in design for digital mediums and demonstrating how you have moved the discipline of brand within an organization forward.
  • You have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Brand Design and 1-2 years of management experience
  • You are a coach to others and give and ask for honest and critical feedback - you inspire, not merely direct
  • Experience collaborating with a diverse team in a rapid growth environment. Huge plus if you've worked with distant teammates and understand the communication patterns of working with highly distributed teams.
  • A learning and growth mindset: Our team size and our design process will evolve and change many times over the next few years. We strive to continuously improve and integrate what we learn - from our work and with each other.

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $168,100 - $224,100
Zone B: $151,9300 - $201,700
Zone C: $139,500 - $186,000
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
