About us:

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.

About the Role:
At Grow Therapy, we are expanding our engineering team rapidly and are looking for a visionary VP of Engineering to lead and manage our growing team of 100+ engineers. You’ll help shape the future of mental health care by overseeing the development of our therapist platform and client search experience. This role is critical in driving our technical strategy, scaling our infrastructure, and cultivating an outstanding engineering culture.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all technical projects, ensuring speed and quality while scaling our infrastructure to support rapid growth.
  • Develop and refine processes that enable cross-functional collaboration and alignment across product, design, and operations teams.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, fostering professional growth and career development through goal setting, performance reviews, and career pathing.
  • Hire, grow, and retain a talented, diverse, and inclusive engineering team, with a focus on continuous improvement and team satisfaction.
  • Foster a supportive and positive team culture that thrives in a hybrid work environment (remote and in-person).
  • Work closely with the Co-Founder/CTO on strategic business planning, aligning the engineering vision with the overall product and business strategy, and translating this into actionable projects and initiatives.

Who You Are:

  • Seasoned Leader: You bring 15+ years of engineering experience, with at least 8+ years of experience managing teams, and 4+ years managing engineering managers and Directors of Engineering.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You’ve worked in startups or side projects, building products from the ground up, and thrive in dynamic, high-growth environments.
  • Mentor: You’ve formally mentored engineers, fostering best practices and helping develop strong engineering talent.
  • Product Thinker: You have a user-centric approach to product development and are passionate about collaborating on product and design decisions.
  • Team Player: You thrive on collaboration, team wins, and are seen as a trusted partner and motivator within the team.
  • Adaptable: You’re experienced in fast-paced environments, understanding that tools and approaches vary as the company evolves.
  • Highly Motivated: You take ownership of your work, always aiming to make a meaningful impact.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant experience scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments.
  • Strong technical background in software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and building scalable platforms.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with product, design, and business leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to align technical initiatives with business goals.

The salary range for this role is $300,000-450,000.

What We Do

We believe that therapy is an essential part of becoming the best versions of ourselves. No matter who you are or where you are starting, it’s more than support through challenge - it’s the foundation to grow, heal and lead lives that are more resilient, empathic, hopeful and powerful.

Everyone should have the opportunity to receive personalized therapy, and therapists should be able to serve the communities they care about most, not just the 10% of people who can afford to pay out of pocket.

Our mission is to help people get quality mental health care, by supporting the therapists who are looking to serve them.

Grow Therapy empowers independent therapists to launch and grow thriving in-network private practices by enabling them to tap into large scale credentialing, referrals, administrative and community support enabled by our passionate team/products. When therapists no longer have the hassle of mundane admin tasks like billing and insurance claims or the limitations of out-of-pocket-only payment options, they can provide care to the communities who need it most!

To achieve our lofty ambitions, we’re building an ambitious team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Our founders come from Harvard Medical School, Stripe, and Blackstone, and bring Grow’s mission to life from the inside-out, promoting holistic wellness for all team members. We balance our determination with a culture that champions well-being, from unlimited PTO and a Winter Break to Mental Health Mornings and learning and wellness stipends.

Grow is backed by top VCs and angel investors, including leaders from SignalFire, Village Global, Airbnb, Nurx, PatientPing, and Blackstone. We have a long way to go to maximize our impact, but if we do our job well, in the coming years we will make a difference in countless lives. We hope you’ll join us!
