Technical Product Manager, Messaging

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to own the realization of our new and refreshed creator messaging capabilities and a data-centric transformation of our CRM. You’ll dig into CreatorIQ’s existing software architecture, refine the vision for an improved messaging & CRM experience, and directionally influence our product roadmap.


As the TPM, you will report directly to the Director for Product and work closely with the VP of Innovation, as well as engineering and customer-facing teams. The ideal candidate is a product person with a proven track record of shipping email software. They know the nuances of deliverability and understand data architecture.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Product Execution: Architect and execute the development (in partnership with engineering), go-to-market (in partnership with customer success), and UAT of our messaging & CRM product suite.
  • Expert Insight: Ensure that our platform adheres to best practices for deliverability, messaging legality, and inbox performance.
  • Automation and Scalability: Ensure that our platform is built to accommodate the scale of our customer’s messaging needs.
  • User Experience: Oversee the usability of our customer-facing messaging features – especially our WYSIWYG editors and unified inboxes UIs. Ensuring that they are user-friendly, responsive, and aligned with current best practices.
  • Cross-Platform Communication Technologies: Explore and integrate non-email communication technologies, such as SMS/MMS and direct messaging, to enhance our platform's communication capabilities.

Who you are and what you’ll need for this position:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager who has shipped email messaging software before (esp. marketing automation, sales engagement, or other ESPs).
  • Strong background in email deliverability and sending automation concepts.
  • Expertise in responsive email HTML, template design, and WYSIWYG editors, especially in the context of integration.
  • Deep nuanced knowledge of the different kinds of email, and how they are used (marketing vs. transactional vs. cold, etc.)
  • Experience with and understanding of AWS SES concepts.
  • Technical understanding of ESP integrations, APIs, and SMTP (esp. Google Workspace, Outlook365).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A kind disposition.
  • Preferred: Experience with SMS/MMS systems.
  • Preferred: Experience with direct message integrations (social platforms, community applications).
  • Preferred: Experience with influencer marketing and creator messaging concepts a big plus.
  • Preferred: API development experience.
