As the , you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise in accounting matters, and contributing to the development of accounting policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS and technology industries, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

  • Stay abreast of emerging accounting standards and provide guidance on their implications.
  • Research and resolve complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assess the impact of new accounting pronouncements on the company's financial statements.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
    • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process and address audit inquiries.
    • Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and updates to existing policies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure alignment on accounting treatment for various transactions.
    • Provide guidance to operational teams on accounting implications of business decisions.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in financial reporting processes.
    • Drive initiatives to streamline and automate accounting processes.
  • Team:
    • Mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
    • Collaborate with the broader finance team to ensure seamless integration of accounting functions.
    • Support accounting operations in technical areas including stock based compensation and capitalized software development cost capitalization

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in technical accounting, with a focus on SaaS and technology industries.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and other accounting regulations.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and audit processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment.

This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will work out of our Englewood Cliffs, NJ office a minimum of 3 days per week to maximize collaboration and interaction with the business. Travel may be required.
