The Opportunity
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a System Engineer, Finance Infrastructure to support system upgrades, patches, and testing, primarily for NetSuite and Workday Adaptive Insight. The person in this role will partner with the operations teams, especially the Finance team, to analyze and design workflows, existing processes, data integrations, and automation. Build project plans, maintain business workflows, and collaborate with other functions to prioritize process improvements, workflow automation, and data integrations.
The right person will be a technical point of contact for the assigned functional areas and assist subject matter experts in ensuring data integrity, testing business system changes, and analyzing data flow for process improvement opportunities. Additionally, they will keep track of Finance system updates and inform stakeholders about significant changes.
As a System Engineer, Finance Infrastructure, you will maintain and expand the existing corporate infrastructure and services.
- Deploy and maintain cloud-based (SaaS) business systems (NetSuite, Coupa, Workday Adaptive Insight, Celigo, ADP WorkforceNow).
- Integrate cloud services across the operation teams into the corporate solution.
- Configure and maintain the financial planning system.
- Build efficient and straightforward cross-systems and cross-processes, understanding how changes affect other functions.
- Excel in collaboration with other functions and understand their needs and current gaps.
- Collaborate with external consultants and professional services teams.
- Utilize project management skills to manage extensive integrations and updates to the core workflows.
- Increase the level of security of corporate infrastructure and services.
- Guarantee the availability and health of information systems through service monitoring, change management, and system data integrity.
- Design and build new technical solutions and identify inefficiencies in legacy systems to address Grammarly’s strategic objectives.
- Ensure that technology solutions align with Grammarly's strategic objectives, are optimized for people and business processes, and contribute to improved user experience, efficiency, revenue growth, and cost savings.
- Maintain comprehensive assessment and documentation of the systems in place, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and project plans and tools that align with the architecture and technical requirements of the enterprise.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends and provide guidance and training to the team and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to optimize technology costs through cloud resource management, reduction of manual components, vendor negotiations, or other means.
Qualifications
- Has over six years of experience in enterprise systems technology and architecture.
- Brings an “Automate-First” mindset and technical proficiency in financial software and systems, including the NetSuite ERP system, financial reporting tools (e.g., Workiva, Tableau), and budgeting and forecasting software (e.g., Pigment).
- Possesses an understanding of systems integration, especially how finance systems integrate with other enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, Coupa).
- Carries strong data management and analytics expertise, including modeling, warehousing, and integration.
- Is well-versed in financial compliance and security standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and data privacy regulations.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capability to analyze complex financial data and recommend solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with finance teams, IT departments, and other stakeholders, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.
Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.
United States:
Zone 1: $160,000 - $200,000/year (USD)
Zone 2: $150,000 - $185,000/year (USD)
