We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Revenue Cycle Team. The Revenue Cycle team maintains and improves the core Ruby/Rails system that powers the accounts payable and receivable for our member and provider network. You will help build software that ensures sensitive data is handled efficiently, safely, and with an eye for scale. The team ensures that providers are paid correctly and timely and that members have accurate information about their cost for care. You will drive forward engineering initiatives that improve the reliability and maintainability of this system. 

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Backend Systems Refinement: Leverage your experience with Ruby on Rails to iterate on our revenue and payment services & data models.
  • Data Architecture: Design data models that support multiple use cases for provider and member payments, capable of adapting to future scale.
  • Quality Assurance: Craft and execute comprehensive tests to ensure the integrity of our systems.
  • Observability and Monitoring: Implement comprehensive observability and monitoring to ensure the success and reliability of the revenue systems. Work with your team & other engineering teams at Spring Health to build & improve tools that allow operations teams to function efficiently.
  • Collaboration: As a Ruby/Rails engineer at Spring Health, you will collaborate closely with other engineers in the organization, to build a uniform approach to platform development and to help establish core platform standards within Rails. You will understand the needs of stakeholders within the organization and ensure they can reliably deliver their work using platform core services.
  • Mentoring Engineers: As a senior member, you will mentor other engineers in the organization. Including sharing knowledge, guiding best practices, and fostering a collaborative and growth oriented environment.

What success looks like in this role: 

  • Deliver an innovative product feature suite on-time while emphasizing scalability, efficiency, and maintainability
  • Maintain and promote strong engineering practices (e.g. minimizing code churn, cycle time, etc…)
  • Develop architectures that allow for integrations and scalable growth
  • Raise the bar for engineering excellence and delivery

What we expect from you:

  • 7+ years of professional development experience
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails & rSpec
  • Experience with Graphql API design
  • Experience with revenue operations or revenue systems
  • Bonus points for experience with Docker & AWS
  • Comfortable working on an agile team and curious about learning new things
  • Enjoy coaching & growing engineers by reinforcing Ruby and OOP best practices and coding standards for others
  • Comfortable moving fast and working through ambiguity - we are a small startup and are working on balancing the demands of business growth and platform reliability

The target salary range for this position is $179,100- $218,550, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options, benefits, and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
