The Challenge
The Systems Engineering team crafts, builds, deploys and maintains a wide variety of IT infrastructure using the latest standards and technologies.
We are actively looking for a Systems Engineer with a broad range of systems infrastructure related and general purpose programming skills. Our ideal candidate has a rich and diverse technical background, is creative and passionate about IT systems, as well as standardization, optimization, and automation. Furthermore, this candidate will have experience architecting, engineering, implementing, and supporting large scale enterprise networks, storage, and system infrastructures in public and private cloud, and on-prem solutions to accommodate end-users, developers, and internal/external customers.
Candidates are expected to stay aware of industry changes and plan to keep ahead of industry advancements to help guide the use and implementation of technology at Take-Two.
What You’ll Take On
- Implementation of information and operational support systems
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software, system management tools, and hardware, virtualization, and storage related systems
- Maintain security, backup, offsite replication, and general DR strategies
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time of any task
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of availability and performance for all systems
- Monitor and resolve alerting issues for all infrastructure systems by participating in rotating on-call schedule
- Monitor and test system performance for potential bottlenecks, and collaborate to drive solutions and implement changes
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for team related assets and domains
- Work closely with vendors and other IT personnel to identify and resolve issues with systems and infrastructure
- Creating and updating technical documentation and procedures
What You Bring
- Proficient with Linux, including installing, configuring and problem solving issues
- Extensive experience building and managing virtualized environments (e.g. VMware)
- Experience maintaining typical private datacenter hardware/infrastructure - servers (e.g. Dell, Cisco UCS), storage (e.g. PureStorage, NetApp).
- Adept at the deployment and configuration of Storage Area Network and software-defined file systems (e.g. FlashArray, vSAN)
- Experience deploying, managing, and monitoring backup platforms (e.g. Rubrik)
- Practical networking experience (4 layer model, TCP/IP) including diagnosing, and remediating basic network issues (e.g., firewalls, basic routing/switching)
- Demonstrable ability to write and debug automation tools and scripts (e.g. PowerShell, shell scripts, Python)
- Strong ability to learn new technologies and dive into challenges.
- Capable of written and verbal communication among both technical and non-technical audience
Great to Have
- Cloud experience, preferably in AWS
- Experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g., Tomcat, Apache/NGINX/IIS, databases, etc)
- Experience managing configuration management solutions (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, etc)
- Proficiency in the IT infrastructure monitoring platform CheckMK.
- Deeper background in all virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware, HyperV, Proxmox)
- Experience with software development principles, including version control systems, Agile development methodologies, and automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Perforce, Jenkins, Git)

The pay range for this position in New York at the start of employment is expected to be between $98,400 and $145,620 USD per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
