The Role
We are looking for an experienced marketer to lead all aspects of marketing operations for the Credit business globally. As the Senior Marketing Operations Manager, you will collaborate across our marketing, sales and other cross-functional teams and be responsible for defining, developing, implementing and optimizing marketing operations strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our marketing activities. This newly created role is a great opportunity to drive growth and make a meaningful impact on one of Morningstar's largest and fastest-growing business units.
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in marketing automation and analytics with extensive hands-on experience across the relevant marketing technology platforms. You will also have exceptional project management and communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and a track record of effective cross-functional and global collaboration. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated problem solver with a passion for business operations.
This role is based in New York and reports to the Senior Director of Marketing. We follow a hybrid working policy and require at least 3 days per week onsite.
What you'll be doing
Marketing Automation:

  • Own the marketing tech stack and develop, implement, optimize and manage automation campaign templates and processes
  • Develop and execute new marketing automation strategies to drive the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing activities and increase the value the marketing team receives from each technology/tool
  • Train and educate team members on marketing automation tools and processes


Marketing Analytics & Reporting:

  • Use rigorous data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities across the various channels and identify trends, patterns and actionable insights to improve performance and inform marketing strategies
  • Develop and implement marketing ROI measurement models and lead scoring models to inform marketing strategies and budget allocation
  • Develop and maintain marketing performance reporting dashboards with clear and compelling data visualizations that communicate the impact of marketing on the overall business for a variety of audiences


Marketing Processes:

  • Identify, design and implement scalable processes and best practices to streamline operations, improve the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and ensure optimal use of digital marketing tools
  • Ensure marketing processes are documented, understood, and followed by all relevant teams


Project Management:

  • Lead large marketing projects involving multiple teams to successful completion with clear project plans


Budget Management:

  • Support the Senior Director in planning, allocating, tracking and reporting on the annual marketing budget


Additionally:

  • Bring subject matter expertise into all our thinking and planning by staying current on marketing automation and operations best practices and finding the bridges to apply them
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the broader marketing team
  • Support other marketing operations needs as necessary


What we're looking for

  • A bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing operations focused on automation and analytics
  • Extensive experience using marketing automation platforms such as Eloqua and Pardot and marketing intelligence and analytics platforms such as Google Looker Studio and Tableau
  • Deep expertise in analyzing marketing performance data and translating it to actionable insights
  • Proficient in data storytelling, including visualizing data, to communicate key insights and inform business decisions
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicating effectively with stakeholders and prioritizing to deliver high-quality work within deadline
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members as well as work independently and autonomously
  • High attention to detail and a deep appreciation and proven ability for process-driven and detailed execution of marketing activities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience overcoming ambiguity and strong analytical skills to translate both qualitative and quantitative data into opportunities for action
