Guild is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction to our Product Engineering team(s). These teams are responsible for building and maintaining the products and experiences used daily by our members, partners, and internal support organizations.
We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned leader to lead multiple squads within our Product Engineering teams. This role goes beyond day-to-day operations, focusing on coaching and mentoring emerging leaders and managing across multiple domains. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader skilled in fostering relationships across the organization to solve complex, cross-pillar problems. Responsibilities include strategic planning, enhancing team efficiency, and driving innovation, while collaborating closely with Product Management, Design and other Engineering Leaders to align technology solutions with Guild's business goals.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, responsibilities include:
- Mentor and coach one or more teams of Engineers while helping to develop the leadership skills of emerging leaders within the teams
- Oversee multiple engineering domains, ensuring efficient resource allocation
- Assume leadership responsibilities across the entire pillar, guiding strategic direction and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional efforts and initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration between engineering squads and other organizational pillars
- Work closely with product management and design teams to develop, define, and implement solutions that align with Guild's business objectives and address the ongoing requirements of the Engineering Team.
- Build and strengthen relationships across the organization to foster a collaborative environment for addressing complex, multi-disciplinary challenges
- Ensure your team(s) are diverse in skills, facilitate access to necessary resources for their development, and help them understand how their contributions fit into the broader goals of Guild.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2–3 years of experience guiding other engineering managers
- Prior experience with modern cloud architectures or microservices
- Proven history of helping teams and individuals expand their skills
- Strong partnerships across product, design, and operations
- Able to manage complex projects and adapt to changing requirements.
This role will require fairly significant in-person engagement with teams based in Denver. Candidates should be willing to travel, approximately quarterly, if not based in Denver
We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $230,000 - $245,000, as well as company stock options.
