This is a critical role in our marketing organization to interact daily with Guild members, learn their story, and capture those insights for the entire organization to incorporate across marketing, storytelling, and sales channels. You bring a lot of curiosity, attention to detail, project management, and skill in adopting and mastering technology stacks. This role is like the frontline reporter or journalist for the organization, building sources, pitching story ideas, and writing reports for specific audiences.
This role will help to grow and develop a steady pipeline of learner stories to support Guild’s brand and messaging. The Senior Associate, Member Storytelling will be responsible for sourcing, developing, and creating content. They will support teams across the organization to incorporate stories about learner success across sales engagement, marketing campaigns, and corporate communications. This person will be proactive about identifying compelling stories that will bring Guild’s mission and work to life. Ideally, you also bring experience with Asana and Brandfolder, or similar tools.
As a Senior Associate, Member Storytelling, you will:
- Grow the library of stories by sourcing, vetting, and interviewing Guild learners
- Interview several members each week using journalistic approach to develop sources and identify stories that bring Guild’s mission and values to life
Maintain contact and track progress of learners as they move through programs
- Assess and package stories into scripts, articles, briefs and other creative assets for use by cross functional stakeholders
- Owns publishing strategy for member storytelling hub on guild.com.
- Identifies members to propose for live external and internal meetings/events.
Work closely with team to strategize and organize processes around story acquisition and delivery
- Interact directly with internal stakeholders to provide guidance around storytelling options and applications to support content campaigns
- Manage digital assets and oversee archiving of student stories in internal systems
- Leads data scalability efforts with relevant teams for more efficient and effective member story sourcing.
- Shares member insights and perspectives with internal Guild teams.
- Maintain strict compliance with the legal distribution of content including an individual’s right to privacy, FERPA, and employer partner contracts

Preferred Competencies
- Experience conducting interviews and generating story ideas
- Excellent storytelling abilities. Includes: ability to distill complex stories into simple yet potent story arcs; ability to tailor stories for diverse channels and audiences; and ability to ground storytelling in business strategy.
- Experience with video editing, preferably for social media
- Background in journalism, communications, marketing, or advertising
- Familiarity with tools like ChatGPT, Asana, Brandfolder, or Adobe Suite
- Curiosity for emerging technology such as AI, and how to apply it to make Guild’s storytelling function more efficient and innovative.
- Spent time in a startup or similar fast-paced environment where there is frequent change and a need to demonstrate and act with a sense of urgency
We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary ranging from $70,000-$92,500 as well as company stock options.
