Why We Exist

Every morning, 11,000 Americans wake up and begin their first day of retirement. While retirement should be an exciting, empowering, and fulfilling part of one’s life, the reality today is that retirement brings along with it a fundamentally new set of challenges that make it an overwhelming time for many.
At Chapter, we believe that the current infrastructure for retirement is broken, and we’re on a mission to fix it. We’ve started by building industry leading technology to solve the first major obstacle in retirement: navigating Medicare (healthcare coverage for retirees over 65). Our products help seniors sign up, choose an insurance plan, and leverage their plan after they are enrolled. And, unlike most Medicare advisors who only search plans that pay them, Chapter searches every Medicare option nationwide. This allows us to find savings and benefits that others miss.
But our ambition doesn’t stop with Medicare — we seek to transform the way that Americans navigate and experience retirement. If this sounds exciting to you, we’d love to speak with you.

About the Role:

Chapter has built industry-leading, proprietary technology to fulfill a simple promise: Help retirees find the best health coverage to meet their needs while reducing what they pay for it. We are growing incredibly quickly and are looking for a senior product manager to own our flagship product and main revenue driver: our Medicare recommendation suite.

As the lead product manager for our Medicare recommendation suite, you will be responsible for building and executing a product strategy to support our company’s fast paced growth.  You will own our recommendation engine (which matches consumers to the right Medicare plan) as well as our advisor facing workflow products and CRM (which track customers through our sales cycle). Additionally, you will partner with our Data Science and Engineering teams to build net new products/feature sets that help us intelligently scale our offering.

This role is a hybrid role located in NYC.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with the General Manager of our Medicare business to build a strategy for scale
  • Partner with our Head of Data and Tech Lead to develop novel, AI-driven capabilities that help us detect and correct inefficiencies in our Medicare sales cycle
  • Build product guardrails and interventions to ensure we’re able to efficiently scale our best-in-class user experience
  • Ruthlessly prioritize and help the team maintain a fast product release cadence
  • Work with our Head of Product and other product managers to help shape product processes and culture

 About You:

  • 7+ years of product management experience at a tech-driven company
  • Able to quickly learn new topics, including the nuances of Medicare and other domains, to guide your understanding of user flows, pain points, and opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to craft, communicate, and garner support for a product strategy
  • Strong user empathy and an eagerness to understand the world from our users’ perspectives
  • Exceptional cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
  • Quantitative analytics skills that reflect an ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Creativity and vision that allow you to take leaps when data is not available

Bonus points

  • Previous experience working in fast paced, ambiguous start-up environments
  • Experience scaling a complex product significantly
  • Experience with AI/ML tooling
  • Experience building analytics leveraging technologies like SQL or Python
