As a Member of Legal, Commercial, you have the ability to influence the future of digital assets and build best-in-class legal, compliance, and regulatory pillars for the broader industry. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with other Members of Legal and members of TPRM to craft contracts with vendors and other key Anchorage partners as well as drive the vendor management process. You will also have the opportunity to work on projects related to privacy, patents and trademark requirements as Anchorage grows its business.

Technical Skills:

  • Apply legal and digital asset expertise to provide negotiation support for vendor contracts, experience and emerging trends to provide insights, guidance and leadership to shape strategy and tackle critical issues internally and externally.
  • Drive technical quality and output of the Legal department and advise on how to improve execution of vendor agreements.
  • Has a complete conceptual knowledge and full understanding in contractual negotiations, with a focus on vendor and partnership agreements, privacy, date and trademarks, and a working knowledge of related areas.
  • Applies analytical and problem solving skills to complex legal issues.
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways, suggests different potential approaches and adapts to circumstance.

Complexity and impact of work

  • Work with the Global Lead Counsel, Commercial and Trading, and Member, Commercial Legal to ensure that the Legal department’s vendor contracting function produces high-quality output in an efficient and scalable manner.
  • Help draft and negotiate contracts that stand the test of time.
  • Keep abreast of industry norms and help set the industry standard for our agreements, protecting Anchorage from legal and reputational risk while maintaining a fair and commercially friendly posture with our clients.
  • Applies judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions with limited information, and evaluates the right course of action.Can work autonomously, defines priorities under broad direction and applies problem solving skills. Work review is only required at critical points.
  • Directly responsible for the entire lifecycle of a contract including negotiation, execution and implementation/interpretation.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of contractual provisions and issues requires evaluation of multiple factors.
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
  • Participates in the hiring process by submitting referrals, conducting interviews, meeting candidates, attending recruiting events or presenting externally.

  • Understands how the company’s priorities relate to their own area of work, and clearly communicates the ‘why’ behind the work.

  • Enhances relationships and networks with senior internal and external stakeholders within their own area of expertise.
  • Help provide clear, actionable guidance to the business on strategic legal communication issues for Anchorage in high profile situations, and difficult on-the-spot questions.
  • Engage and build appropriate rapport internally and externally, and is recognized as a team player whose knowledge, ideas, and critical thinking impact the strategic direction of Anchorage and the digital asset industry.
  • Is an active ambassador and role model of our culture and values both internally and externally.
