Job Summary
Altice USA is a leading provider of Mobile, Broadband (DOCSIS, Fiber) and Video services in the United States. The Product Development organization is responsible for the technology enablement and development of these technologies for our customers along with the tools used by our teams to support them.
Reporting to the VP of Product Operations, Analytics and Quality the Engineering Manager - Developer Tools and Automation role will manage a team of highly skilled software developers to builds to tools and processes that improve productivity, drive efficiency, and ensure the quality and reliability of our software products.
We are looking for a passionate and engaged individual who is willing to take on the challenge of transforming software development at a Fortune 500 company and building the tools that will allow our development teams to Go Fast!
Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creation of our strategy for software development at Altice USA.
  • Establish our software development tools roadmap accelerating our development teams.
  • Execute on the implementation of our tools and automation roadmap.
  • Automate our end-to-end testing capabilities across all products including broadband, video, customer support and technician support tools to 80% automated test coverage.
  • Introduce capabilities to do effective A/B testing of releases across test populations.
  • Leverage developer tools and test automation to transform our software release processes and enable the development teams to get capabilities to customers faster.
  • Create a structured knowledge base that allows teams to create, maintain and extend documentation for all our developer tools and processes.
  • Establish and gain acceptance for Key Results indicated by our development pipeline and automation test frameworks.
  • Use and customize out of the box tools to instrument and monitor systems.
  • Use prototypes and proof of concepts as the primary tool for deep and detailed explorations of architecture and software designs
  • Prioritize and eliminate technical debt.
  • Go-to advocate for developer tools and automation in the organization.
  • Owns 3+ scrums with accountability for the results.
  • Continue to make Altice a Developer Friendly Environment.
  • Drives multi-scrum technology feasibility, delivery and quality w/ product and design partners.
  • Identifies opportunities to employ non-cutting-edge technologies in new and novel ways.
  • Writes clear workflow documents/emails/presentations.
  • Writes thought leadership documents/emails/presentations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Minimum five years of experience in software development, automation, and tools
  • Experience managing teams of software developers
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, C#)
  • Experience with Google cloud or Amazon Web Services and their capabilities
  • Thorough understanding of software methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Experience with the implementation and optimization CI/CD Pipelines
  • Good intuition for software design, actively looking to learn from other teams and projects
  • Experience with data formats and locality with performance considerations
  • Demonstrated experience solving performance and data issues by applying experience/knowledge
  • Completely comfortable working with live production systems, debugging issues and taking careful actions with protections against damage
  • Contributes to establishing and maintaining corporate policies related to technology

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $123,379.00 - $202,694.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
