WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Director of Clinical Compliance will play a critical role in ensuring that our telemedicine and case management services adhere to all applicable federal and state laws & regulations, third-party payor contract requirements, and healthcare professional licensing requirements. In this role, you will: 

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a compliance program that focuses on access to  data via health information exchange, scope of practice, mandated reporting, treatment relationship initiation, clinical supervision requirements, revenue cycle management, and collaborative practice agreements.
  • Monitor for, audit, and investigate allegations of non-compliance. Then, implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Perform risk assessment of new or updated clinical service offerings.
  • Create and enforce written policies, procedures and standards of conduct to clinical staff on compliance-related topics.
  • Work closely with clinical, legal, and operational leadership to ensure our services meet and maintain the highest standards of regulatory compliance and patient safety.
  • Identify and inform clinical, legal, and operational leadership teams of relevant changes in federal, state or local legislation & regulations as well as changes in industry standards which may impact operational or administrative processes.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
  • Experience in a telemedicine or virtual care setting.
  • Healthcare compliance certification (CHC) preferred.
  • At least three to five years of relevant compliance experience with in-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, TEFCA as well as state-specific telemedicine, scope of practice, supervision requirements, and collaborative practice agreement standards.
  • At least three to five years of internal audit experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable state regulatory requirements and Medicare regulations and contract requirements.
  • Experience participating in regulatory audits. 
  • Relevant experience working in a healthcare startup setting a plus.

    YOUR ROLE

    The Director of Enterprise and Clinical Compliance is responsible for the successful operation of Thyme Care’s compliance program, including monitoring and auditing Thyme Care’s compliance with applicable state and federal regulatory, third-party payor contract and healthcare professional licensing requirements, investigating allegations of non-compliance, creating and enforcing written policies, procedures and standards of conduct and providing training to clinical and non-clinical staff on compliance-related topics.

    The Director of Enterprise and Clinical Compliance will identify and inform Thyme Care of relevant changes in federal, state or local regulations which may impact operational or administrative processes and work with cross-division teams to implement regulatory changes as needed.  In addition, the Director will serve as subject matter expert in the implementation and oversight of new clinical regulatory requirements and support revenue cycle management implementation.

    WHAT YOU’VE DONE

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
    • Healthcare compliance certification preferred
    • At least three to five years of relevant compliance experience
    • At least three to five years of internal audit experience
    • Knowledge of applicable state regulatory requirements and Medicare regulations and contract requirements
    • Experience participating in regulatory audits 
    • Relevant experience working in a healthcare startup setting a plus

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Thyme Care. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees. In accordance with New York City law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York City is $175,000 - $230,000. The salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location. We also believe that your personal needs and preferences should be taken into consideration so we allow some choice between equity and cash.
