The Role

As a Data Engineering Manager at EDO, you will join a team of talented Data Engineers working closely with Data Scientists to build out our next generation Ad EnGage data pipeline. This pipeline measures and optimizes the effectiveness of advertising by combining and analyzing dozens of sources of advertising occurrence data, advertising outcome data, identity resolution data, and various other types of data. Our clients use these insights to make critical business decisions about their advertising strategy. You will work with large data sets (trillions of rows and hundreds of TB of data) using a modern tech stack centered on AWS, Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake.

What You Will Do

  • Hands-on manager of 1-3 direct reports; act as a player/coach; stay close to the details of project work and support your team members, amplifying the impact of their work.
  • Solve data engineering challenges that arise from a data pipeline that orchestrates the modeling of ad effectiveness on trillion-event data sets that span millions of households for several years.
  • Lead projects cross functionally; collaboratively defining requirements with product management; executing projects with cross functional teams (Data Science, Infrastructure, Front End, etc)

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years of data engineering experience. Ideally, at least 2 years of experience leading teams.
  • A self-driven individual who eagerly takes ownership of projects in a startup environment
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non technical audiences
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing platforms (such as Snowflake, Redshift, etc), cloud computing (such as AWS), and ETL/data pipeline technologies (such as Airflow, DBT)
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and a scripting language such as Python or Ruby
  • A strong understanding of software engineering practices, principles, and fundamentals
  • Able to balance engineering considerations with business considerations, deal with ambiguity, and deliver positive outcomes
  • Previous industry experience working with TV or other advertising data is a plus

In compliance with New York Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this position is $150,000-$200,000. We note the salary information as a general guideline only, as actual compensation may vary from posting. We will consider various factors to determine the offer for this role, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work experience, location, key skills, training, and business considerations.
