Job Description

We’re looking for a professional and driven Collections Specialist to join the Finance team. This role reports directly to the Controller and will work closely with the other members of the finance and operations teams. The Collections Specialist will work primarily on accounts receivable and collections, which is an integral part of our business model. The role also encompasses other elements of daily processing, monthly closing, and account analysis as well as daily communication with clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Accounts Receivable

    • Sending out monthly invoices

    • Following up on unpaid invoices

    • Generating Invoices in the Accounting system

    • Cash application of all payments received

    • Interacting with clients on Billing questions

    • Monthly Evaluation of allowance for bad debts

  • Daily client interactions (both phone and email)

  • Cash receipts transactions daily spreadsheet and journal entry

  • Other monthly and quarterly journal entries as needed

  • Monthly Bank reconciliations

  • Assist CFO and Controller with annual audit

  • Ad Hoc Projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Internship to 3 years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable/Collections

  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Sage Intacct is a plus

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be a strong communicator both written and verbally

  • Excellent organization skills, detail oriented and self-motivated

  • Comfort speaking with clients over the phone / Zoom and client service attitude

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
