Description
A Health Benefits Manager is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing healthcare plan data to ensure it meets the needs of the organization and its customers. They play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of health benefits data. This role involves close collaboration with the Customer Success and Product teams to align efforts and achieve these objectives.
Responsibilities
Management
- The role includes managing a team and providing guidance and support to ensure effective collaboration and performance.
Data Analysis
- Analyzing health plan data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Generating detailed reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Plan Design and Implementation
- Developing and implementing health plan structures tailored to organizational needs.
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards
Data Accuracy and Quality Assurance
- Maintaining the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of healthcare plan data.
- Establishing quality control measures and resolving data discrepancies
Collaboration with Teams
- Working closely with the Customer Success team to address client-specific needs and inquiries.
- Partnering with the Product team to enhance features related to healthcare plan data.
Required Qualifications:
Experience
- Proven experience (5+ years) in health benefits management, healthcare data analysis, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with health insurance plans, benefit structures, and claims processing
- Proven experience in managing teams (5-7 team members and more)
- In-depth knowledge and experience in the startup world
Project Management Abilities
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Skills in planning, organizing, and implementing new processes or systems.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong ability to analyze complex datasets and draw meaningful insights.
- Experience identifying gaps in healthcare plans and proposing solutions.
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Ability to explain complex healthcare data concepts in an accessible way.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with healthcare data systems, such as benefits management software or claims systems.

Salary:
For New York City-based hires only: Compensation Range: $120k base salary, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. In addition to base salary, the role includes the opportunity to receive equity based on the Company's plans and in accordance with the Company's policies. Compensation finally awarded to the candidate will be commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of New York City may differ based on the cost of labor and such additional factors for such other locations.
