Process data becomes a big mess when companies don’t understand how to use it. Luckily, Celonis does.
Helping companies improve on all their operational processes, the team at Celonis gets the opportunity to help businesses transform from the bottom up — including the very people who make the companies operate each day.
“I enjoy solving big and meaningful problems that not only impact the organizations I am working with but the people inside them as well,” says Celonis Account Executive Priya Shah.
We talked with three Celonis team members about what it’s like to work at a fast-growing company that’s transforming operations in the working world.

Where do you see the company headed?
I see Celonis maintaining its position as the market leader in process mining, as well as being synonymous with business transformation. I also see our product suite expanding, allowing us to provide a richer solution to organizations that are looking to take a big leap forward when it comes to operational efficiency and overall business transformation.

What’s your favorite part about working at Celonis?
I like that we are all working very hard to truly change the way enterprise companies drive transformation in their businesses. We are all on a mission to make a difference and build a new category of enterprise software. In my tenure here, the culture has remained consistent, and I'm seeing the new “Celonauts” embrace the same mentality and work ethic as the more senior team members.
I spend hours each day in the office and definitely need to enjoy my work environment. There’s a great group of people here who create a fun and energetic atmosphere, and we’re a competitive team that still encourages everyone to reach and exceed our objectives.

Is there anything unique about working at such a fast-growing company?
Building a new category of enterprise software with some of the biggest companies in the world as our customers is pretty unique. Contributing to how companies transform their business by using our software keeps me inspired and excited every single day, and it’s the first time in my career where I can directly make a difference.
Gregory Zajac, Delivery Data Scientist
Gregory works with Celonis’ customers to implement the Celonis platform at their organization from a technical perspective ― he helps them extract, transform, load, visualize and interpret their process-related data.
BEYOND WORK: Outside of mining data and analyzing processes, Gregory’s main passion in life is drumming. There is nothing he enjoys more than sharing the gift of music — jazz in particular — with people in a live setting.
Celonis is solving some tricky problems that most people might not consider. What exactly does Celonis do for businesses?
In the most basic, analyzing a process in Celonis can be defined as analyzing time-stamped event logs that automatically occur within corporate systems.
Sequences of actions or workflows, like procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and acquire-to-retire, can be analyzed and transformed within Celonis. I can’t think of any business or organization where such a sequence of actions does not exist, nor imagine a scenario where a business or organization would not want the level of insight and operationalization Celonis offers.
To me, building a great culture boils down to one simple rule: ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’”
How has your product evolved from where you started out?
Celonis’ product offering has changed fundamentally since I started. We used to be on-premise software, meaning that our customers needed to install and maintain our software on a server of their own.
Now, we offer our software as a service, fully in the cloud. Our customers leave it to us to maintain the software and provide database space where we host their data and perform our data transformations. This reduces our customers’ time-to-value significantly and allows data scientists, like me, to have access to the latest updates to the software on a regular basis.
Now that you and the company are more established, how do you think about building and maintaining a strong culture?
To me, building a great culture boils down to one simple rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” That means going that extra step for your colleagues and lending a helping hand to someone even if it goes outside of your job description — you’d be grateful if someone did the same for you.
Of course, being able to enact this rule successfully is contingent on the most important aspect of building any kind of culture: your people. If they are the kind of individuals who will go the extra step and lend a helping hand, then your people are the ones who propagate the culture and spread it throughout your organization.
