Overview 

Reporting to the Chief Product & Data Officer, the VP of Product will be responsible for driving and executing the product roadmap for Fortune's portfolio of digital media products and businesses. This leader will oversee product development from conception to launch, enhancing user experience and driving audience growth, engagement, and monetization across digital and traditional media platforms. The VP of Product will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including editorial, engineering, marketing, and sales to execute best-in-class product, user experience and revenue. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Leadership: Manage a team of product managers and UI/UX professionals from ideation and discovery through to delivery and measurement. 
  • Create a high functioning team that is collaborative, communicative, accountable and transparent. 
  • Communicate and explain the product roadmap to all stakeholders, including market-based context and technology updates with the goal of ensuring understanding, alignment and operational efficiency.  
  • Able to achieve stakeholder buy-in even in contentious situations, particularly when explaining tradeoffs, opportunities and risks.  
  • Roadmap Management and Delivery: Develop and manage day-to-day execution of Fortune’s product roadmap with input from readers, customers and internal stakeholders to support their respective needs and business goals. 
  • Pragmatically prioritize the roadmap based on clear, explainable principles and tradeoffs. 
  • Transparently measure and analyze outcomes/impact of product development 
  • Process: In collaboration with our VP of Data Analytics and SVP of Engineering, jointly deliver: 
  • An end-to-end agile development process is high velocity, data-driven, high quality and results/impact-prioritized  
  • Company-wide accountability for product & tech health metrics and business outcomes 

Qualifications 

  • 10-15 years of product management experience in the digital media, B2C technology or related industries, with at least 5 years in a senior role managing managers.  
  • A natural pace-setter with high EQ, who excels at team and culture-building 
  • Well versed in best practices and common product development frameworks. 
  • Experience with launching and/or meaningfully scaling digital media/content, B2C technology, and/or SEO-driven products. 
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape, user behavior, and emerging technologies. 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or an analytical field is preferred. Advanced degree is also preferred.

Total Compensation Range (base salary & bonus) : $200,000.00 - $275,000.00 base salary + 10 - 20% discretionary annual bonus
