WHO WE ARE

Inato is a Tech for Good company striving to bring clinical research to each and every patient, regardless of who they are or where they live. To do this, we are building the world's first clinical trial platform to create greater visibility, access, and engagement across a more diverse population of doctors and their patients.

Drug development is a challenging, intellectually complex, and rewarding endeavor: we enable global pharmaceutical companies to confidently partner with community-based researchers to increase patient access to the latest medical innovations. The platform currently offers clinical trials from leading companies to over 4,000 sites across the globe and we are well poised for growth in 2025.

We are a growing team of passionate pharmaceutical experts, software engineers, professional services members, and many more - all bringing their unique perspectives to solve the challenges facing clinical research.

Inato is the recent recipient of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024, Fierce Healthcare’s Fierce 15, and Built In's Best Places to Work 2025.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an ambitious, strategic, and hands-on finance leader ready to help us take on our next phase of growth. The VP of Finance will be a critical thought partner to the leadership team, providing financial strategy, insights, and operational expertise. This individual will oversee financial planning, improve unit economics, and actively contribute to optimizing pricing and resource allocation.

The role requires a dynamic player/coach who thrives in an iterative, fast-paced environment, excels in navigating complexity, and brings both technical expertise and business acumen to the table. You will have a direct impact on the company's growth trajectory by driving financial improvements, collaborating across teams, and preparing the organization for long-term success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Financial Leadership

- Partner with leadership to guide the company toward achieving a repeatable and predictable financial model over the next 3-4 years.

- Drive improvements in pricing strategies, hiring plans, and operational decision-making to enhance profitability and efficiency.

- Support the company’s long-term vision, including preparations for potential exits or major growth events.

Financial Planning and Analysis

- Develop and refine financial models that inform strategic decisions, including scenario analysis and forecasting.

- Serve as a thought partner to cross-functional teams (e.g., Go-to-Market, Product, and Customer Success), helping shape decisions with data-driven insights.

Team Management and Operations

- Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring operational excellence in accounting, reporting, and budget management.

- Oversee financial controls, compliance, and processes to maintain a high standard of accuracy and accountability.

- Balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in financial modeling and analysis.

Investor Relations and Board Engagement

- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to prepare for board meetings and investor updates.

- Manage relationships with investors and external stakeholders, providing transparency and confidence in financial operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

- 7+ years in finance roles, with at least 2+ years of experience in a leadership position.

- Previous experience at a scaling SaaS or startup company, ideally with 75-1000 employees in size.

- Demonstrated ability to navigate financial complexity, including pricing strategies and enterprise customer variability.

Skills:

- Proficient in financial modeling and forecasting; able to iterate and adapt models to reflect business changes.

- Strong Excel expertise with a hands-on approach—capable of diving into details while maintaining strategic focus.

- Business acumen with the ability to align financial insights to operational decisions.

Leadership:

- Proven ability to lead and mentor a finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

- Experience managing cross-functional collaboration and engaging with senior leadership.
