Who You Are: 


We are a fast-growing company looking for our first VP of Engineering. You'll take ownership of our Engineering department and be a hands-on leader as we scale our technology, people, and business. You’ll work closely with our co-founders, team leaders, and engineering managers to identify short-term and long-term roadmaps and define and execute strategies to reach our engineering goals. You’re able to manage multiple teams of engineers, have experience scaling codebases, and can provide and implement best practices. 


You’ll provide a vision for the composition of our Engineering teams as we grow and work hand-in-hand with our People Operations to attract top talent and identify hiring needs. You’ll be a mentor and coach to our engineers, facilitating their career growth and helping to impart and establish an outstanding culture for our Engineering department.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of combined engineering and leadership experience and a technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years managing engineering teams
  • 8+ years software engineering experience developing web and mobile applications, with a preference for B2B SaaS
  • A proven track record of scaling Engineering organizations in a start-up environment from 10 to 30+ by attracting, developing and retaining top talent
  • Technically respected and inspirational leader with a deep network of talented engineers and managers
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical teams, as well as non-technical leaders and stakeholders.
  • You understand and can balance expectations and needs between engineering and the rest of the business
  • You are a builder, self-starter, and have a strong bias for action
  • Located or willing to work in New York City
  • United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain specific experience in fintech, SaaS, B2B or B2B2C products and services
  • Earlier stage scaling experience as an Engineering leader across funding rounds (i.e. taken engineering teams through a series A to series B, or Series B to Series C stage)
