Title: Vice President, Communications (Digital and Innovation)
Location: New York, NY
Position Overview:
CNN seeks a Vice President for the Communications team to lead work across the Digital and Innovation portfolio during an exciting new chapter for the news network.
Reporting to the SVP of Communications, this role will work to support the digital transformation efforts across CNN Worldwide in strategic storytelling, messaging and brand building efforts. This person will also sit on the digital leadership team, advising on communications strategy, reputation-related priorities, crisis management and innovation projects.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead communications strategy and execution around CNN's new digital transformation efforts supporting the EVP of Digital Products and Services and new innovation projects
  • Create multi-layered communications plans that include product launches, audience growth and acquisition efforts, and new technology efforts including GenAI, all laddering up to CNN Worldwide's brand story
  • Partner across CNN departments and communications teams to infuse digital storytelling and messaging across all portfolios
  • Oversee, and be accountable for, managing talent development of the team
  • Consult on communications department's operational decisions and functions, and advise on earned media opportunities and brand-level features
  • Advise and engage in crisis and strategic response, including direct outreach to members of the press
  • Manage complex and unexpected communications challenges with professionalism
  • Develop and consult on department functions and processes


The Individual:

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in corporate communications and have built and managed high-performance teams across a large, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working in either media or technology
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to context and detail that effectively communicate a message
  • Extensive experience in issues management and crisis communications
  • Must have leadership presence and the ability to advise corporate executives
  • Seasoned, strategic, hands-on, consultative, and collaborative approach
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent


Compensation:
Warner Bros. Discovery and CNN intend to attract a superior Vice President, Communications and is prepared to offer an attractive compensation package including a base salary, plus bonus, and equity.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $196,000.00 - $364,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
