This new role will focus on centralizing and accelerating product marketing across Dotdash Meredith to deliver greater awareness of our diverse offerings and advertising business growth. This position is based in New York and is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Team:

The Advertising & Partnerships Marketing Organization focuses on defining and articulating Dotdash Meredith’s value in the market, increasing awareness of and demand for Dotdash Meredith’s broad portfolio (including brands: People, Food & Wine, Travel & Leisure, and technology: D/Cipher), and developing marketing strategies and programs to drive growth of Dotdash Meredith. Reporting into the Chief Marketing Officer, the Vice President of Product Marketing will have an exciting opportunity to scale the product marketing function, establish effective ways of working with Product and Innovation teams, and lead a nimble team essential to achieving our business goals. 

 

About The Position

  • Team: Design, build and lead a best-in-class Product Marketing Organization, from establishing processes to set the team up for success and measure outcomes to ensuring training and development opportunities for PMMs. 

  • Market and Competitive Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and standards, and provide feedback and recommendations to craft the advertising product strategy, in partnership with the ad product team, and equip the team in the market. 

  • Product Portfolio, Positioning & Messaging: Develop product naming, positioning, and messaging that support the Dotdash Meredith brand and effectively communicate the value of Dotdash Meredith products. Prioritize product marketing investments in line with business objectives and growth. 

  • Customer and Market Feedback: Establish programs to bring customer and market feedback into the organization, such as client interviews, client advisory boards, partner engagement, or other impactful ideas. 

  • Sales Enablement: Establish structure for the team to communicate product value propositions and narratives to sales teams and develop the sales tools that enable sales and growth for existing and new advertising products. 

  • Thought Leadership: Partner with the CMO and Head of Communications to craft a content strategy aligned with business objectives and product marketing priorities. Lead team creation of presentations, articles, and briefings to solidify Dotdash Meredith’s leading position in cookieless targeting and premium brands and experiences. 

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:

  • MBA or comparable education preferred, or equivalent business experience

 

Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience in marketing or product marketing, with proven leadership and management of diverse teams

  • Deep expertise in the media and advertising landscape, including advertising products, targeting, and measurement solutions

  • Experience establishing a client community or advisory board and interest in fostering community and education among top clients and partners

 

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Customer and market driven, committed to bringing the voice of the customer into the organization and delivering premium experiences for the market

  • Known for cross-functional collaboration and building relationships with teams across the organization, including product and sales 

  • Clear and proactive communication style, with distinct expertise translating technology and features into stories and benefits

  • Self-driven, high energy leader who thrives on building processes and best practices, story telling, and driving results

  • Product marketing training or certification (Pragmatic Institute, PMA, or similar)

  • Comfortable implementing modern product marketing tools and systems to optimize efficiency and output
