As an Experience Design Specialist Executive Director in Employee Experiences, you will be a professional expert and leader in the field of experience design, driving the development and implementation of innovative user experiences across multiple products and services. Entrusted with significant autonomy and discretion, you will define the standard of quality and will oversee service delivery within the User Experience Design group. Your deep expertise in experience design will be instrumental in shaping long-term organizational strategies, fundamentally enhancing employee experiences.
You will be accountable for the design direction, and growth of a team of designers delivering our core web and mobile platforms ensuring we enable frictionless, cohesive, and personalized experiences across the end-to-end employee journey from hire to retire.
Job responsibilities
- Conceptualize and implement user experience strategies for a variety of products and services to align with business needs to foster innovation
- Direct complex, end-to-end design projects within or across domains, craft service flow diagrams and product features, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
- Solve intricate design challenges and introduce novel methods to uplift user experiences
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and champion user-centered design principles, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to infuse user experience design principles into product development processes and ensure cohesive and inclusive experiences
- Map end-to-end journeys, facilitate sessions like Design Sprints, and lead rapid concepting and prototyping
- Leverage design research, competitive research, data, and analytics to create full-featured and strategic products
- Hold a high bar for design quality and craft through excellent visual and interaction design
- Ship high impact employee-facing products in a fast-moving and changing environment - one that celebrates experimentation, iteration, and shipping
- Roll up your sleeves and contribute to the craft of making strong ideas and solutions
- Contribute to building a design community of practice
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 7+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in user experience design, interaction design, or related fields
- Demonstrated expertise in information architecture and visual design, with a portfolio of aesthetically appealing and functional digital products
- Proven track record in leading the development of innovative user experiences across various platforms and channels
- Expertise in inclusive design, accessibility guidelines, and assistive technologies, capable of creating user-friendly designs for a diverse audience
- Expert technical knowledge, with an advanced understanding of the impact of client-side technologies, APIs, and the technology stack on user experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Have a strong portfolio of elegant design solutions
- Experience delivering internal products or tools for a large enterprise
- Experience delivering design for both enterprise software and mobile
- Excellent written and verbal communication
