In-office Expectations: This position offers remote work flexibility; however, if you reside within a commutable distance to one of our main offices in New York, Des Moines, Birmingham, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Seattle, the expectation is to work from the office three times per month.

About Your Role:

Dotdash Meredith seeks a Technical Product Manager, Ad Creation, to help us build world-class services and tools that power our interactive ad units and consumer utilities. Your role will be focused on building products and features for our ad creation platforms and tools. You’ll report to the Assoc. Director of Product, Ad Creation.

Our ideal candidate has familiarity with a wide range of technologies related to digital and retail media and the programmatic advertising ecosystem, in particular content classification, knowledge graphs, highly performant REST APIs, GraphQL, and more.

About Your Contributions:

  • Driving Product Vision - Collaborate on product strategy and review your roadmap with product leadership, engineering, sales, ad product marketing, and operations stakeholders.

  • Collaboration - Coordinate with fellow product managers and technology leaders on the sequence of a cross-team project.

  • Managing Complexity - Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and data scientists to address complex technical challenges, such as improving the performance of features, resolving critical bugs, and implementing new integrations. You’ll need to navigate diverse perspectives, conflicting priorities, and technical constraints to reach viable solutions.

  • Driving Results - Prioritize and drive initiatives across multiple engineering teams, acting as the product SME from a functional perspective. Make real-time decisions to ensure that we are on track to meet business goals.

  • Optimizing Work Processes - Facilitate process definition and define business rules by partnering with internal teams responsible for building, trafficking, reporting on, and selling the products that you create.

  • Technical Savvy - Understand Dotdash Meredith and vendor APIs, their usage, and their impact on the platform ecosystem. Anticipate the impact of emerging technologies and their potential applicability to the ad creation platform.

About You:

  • 2-4 years of hands-on technical product management – day-to-day product ownership and ideation. Previous experience working with internal tools preferred.

  • You are familiar with the digital ad serving, programmatic, and measurement technology ecosystem (e.g. SSPs, DSPs, Header Bidding, DMPs, etc.)

  • “Platform thinking” is part of your DNA. You naturally build for scale and reuse, always thinking ahead to the longer-term.

  • You possess an innate desire to collect, synthesize, and analyze data to inform your decision-making.

  • You’re excellent at communicating and collaborating with a wide range of teams and stakeholders to build great products.

  • You should be fluent in technical jargon such that you can actively participate in highly technical conversations with engineering teams. Prior programming experience is ideal but not required.

  • You’re able to juggle the needs of multiple stakeholder groups and develop strategic product plans for each of them.

  • You have a passion for figuring out user problems and pain points.

  • You’re capable of developing a big-picture product strategy for meeting user needs, selling it, and then working out the details to get the plan over the finish line.

  • You’re fluent in Agile principles and methodology.
