Why We're Hiring

We’re hiring a Talent Booker who will liaise across departments company-wide to identify and secure meaningful talent to appear in our video content and at our digital festivals. This position will report to the Associate Director Talent Relations and will ensure that content is creative and on-brand. A successful candidate will have experience in digital media and events/festivals. The ideal candidate has refined judgment, great interpersonal skills, persistence in pursuing top guests, especially focused on booking talent outside the structure of a junket, understanding of the merchandise space, and the ability to think creatively when booking guests for programs. Connections in and to the worlds of sneakers, film, comedy, fashion, collectibles, and sports will be essential.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day booking operations for Complex Sneaker Shopping, On Display, and other shows as required by the team.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for talent relations for each booking.
  • Pitch our original segments that are not just junket-bound, cultivating relationships and booking guests who are top-tier talent in sports, film, comedy, and overall pop-culture creators.
  • Work with Content, Marketing, and Merchandise teams to best understand our needs.
  • Set up pre-production calls with talent teams to ensure smooth shoots.
  • Coordinate with on-air talent on research/pre-interviews and booking guests & creators with diverse points of view.
  • Deliver detailed and accurate guest coordination information to tech/control room team for in-studio or remote interviews.
  • Confirm & contract talent, coordinate logistics, oversee each booking execution and conduct recaps.
  • Respond quickly to short timelines with last-minute guest bookings.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, sometimes driven by last minute execution requirements.
  • Handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Remain current on local events & trends and source potential leads in major markets.
  • Maintain effective communication.
  • Perform general office administration, including but not limited to: Following up on leads, phone calls, emails, scheduling, faxing, emailing, organizing and maintaining files.

Who You Are

  • Booker with a minimum 3 years of experience booking guests on a weekly basis (non remote).
  • Experience in Booking On-Location Shoots. Non-Junket.
  • A candidate with excellent grammar skills, communication skills and great phone etiquette.
  • A candidate who understands the concept of salesmanship, being effective while working remotely, and a strong sense of commitment to the company and brand.
  • Highly professional, articulate, trustworthy, responsible, self-motivated, well organized, a fast learner, and someone who works well with clear direction.
  • A master net-worker who builds relationships and is an outward facing champion of the shows they are booking and Complex as a brand.
