Allrecipes, the number one food site on the internet, is looking for a digital Staff Writer to report on food news & trends. In this role, you will pitch ideas, report stories, and occasionally update existing stories as they develop and/or become newsworthy.
About The Positions Contributions:
Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

50%: Pitching and writing 3-5 daily news and trend stories about the food and recipes space

20%: Make sure stories are optimized with catchy headlines and strong ledes

20%: Find and interview food industry experts for stories that require additional reporting

10%: Monitor for breaking news and be ready to report them in real-time
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Experience:
-
3+ years writing experience at an online publisher, preferably in the food space
-
CMS experience required
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

Personal interest in the food and recipes space

Detail-oriented and deadline-focused
-
A self-starter who can pivot seamlessly as new initiatives and directives are identified and adjusts processes accordingly

Familiarity with SEO best practices

Proficiency in project management tools like Google Sheets, Airtable, or similar
