The Staff Accountant will perform reconciliations, manage inventory reports, generate financial reports, and prepare tax returns while ensuring accuracy and organization in the restaurant accounting sector.
Staff Accountant
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team! This non-hybrid, full-time position is perfect for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and a strong background in restaurant accounting.
Key Responsibilities
(including but not limited to)
- Perform daily reconciliations of cash, credit cards, third-party payment platforms, and paid outs, posting to the General Ledger.
- Monitor bank account balances and complete regular bank reconciliations.
- Review and post weekly inventory reports.
- Generate weekly financial reports covering sales, food & beverage, and labor.
- Conduct general ledger analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and post journal entries.
- Prepare month-end closing work papers for outside accountants.
- Complete and file sales tax and commercial rent tax returns.
- Manage additional projects as assigned.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining high attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Staff Accountant role.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and familiarity with Toast and Compeat/Restaurant 365 is required.
- Restaurant industry experience is a must.
- Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Self-starter with a strong desire to learn and grow.
