We're looking for a Staff Accountant, Revenue to help us accomplish our mission to improve and extend lives by learning from the experience of every person with cancer. Are you ready to be the next changemaker in cancer care?
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll work closely with the Revenue Manager, other members of the Accounting team, and cross-functional teams, to ensure Flatiron's revenue recognition policies, procedures, and reporting are in accordance with IFRS for the Real World Evidence business. You'll also:
- Review customer contracts for revenue recognition to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with IFRS 15. This includes creating billing and revenue schedules at the inception of the contract and continually maintaining revenue recognition, deferred revenue, unbilled accounts receivables and accounts receivable accounts
- Assist in the month-end close for revenue accounts in Netsuite, Flatiron's ERP system, including preparing journal entries, flux analyses, account reconciliations and reporting, as well as assist with on-going enhancements to our close process
- Ensure timely and accurate customer billings and manage collections on an ongoing basis
- Assist with new business integrations into QTC processes and systems
- Ensure appropriate application and collection of sales and use tax to customer invoices
- Collaborate with cross functional teams (Commercial Analytics, Legal, FP&A, Business Operations, Sales) to improve existing processes and support business needs
- Work closely with external auditors to support our annual financial statement audits, as applicable
Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition, you're a resourceful Accountant with 2-3 years of experience in Big Four or national public accounting firms, or combined experience in public accounting and industry.
You Have:
- Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to think creatively, solution unexpected issues and work independently to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with technical research and takes initiative to determine accounting impact
- Experience in the application of ASC 606 or IFRS 15
- Strong excel skills
- Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, relevant certification, or commensurate experience
- A CPA or are interested in pursuing a CPA
Extra credit
- You have experience with Netsuite ERP and Salesforce
- You have technical knowledge related to licensing/SaaS revenue recognition

Job Compensation Range
Salary Range: $68,000.00 - $102,000.00
Preferred Primary Location: NYC Headquarters
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
