Responsibilities

• Lead the hands-on development of next-generation features for Yahoo! Finance with a focus on content, performance, ad tech optimization/integration and delivering a world-class experience for our millions of users.

• Define, scope, plan, and implement best-in-class software practices, procedures, and delivery.

• Develop Technical Design Documentation for your team.

• Define and contribute to implementation guidelines and execution strategy for your team’s goals.

• Collaborate with your peers, product managers, and engineering leaders on new features and enhancements.

• Provide technical mentorship to your team members. Aid in building a team of highly autonomous peers.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or a related major, or equivalent experience

• 9-12+ years of relevant experience.

• Thorough understanding of  HTML, CSS and CSS preprocessors (SCSS, etc).

• Full-stack experience with Typescript/ES6/Nodejs required

• Strong working, development, and deployment knowledge of multiple modern web-based tech, such as React, Vue, Svelte, etc 

• Experience with frontend / full-stack web frameworks like NextJS, Nuxt, SvelteKit, etc (or similarly equivalent tech)

• Experience consuming RESTful, GraphQL, or equivalent APIs for user facing applications.

• Well-versed in software development design patterns, code structure and debugging tools. 

• Experience mentoring software engineers and leading by example.

• Strong team player–you are genuinely interested in opposing opinions and can support your own perspectives with thoughtful reasoning.

• Excellent listening and communication skills; able to communicate org, team and project goals clearly.

The compensation for this position ranges from $160,965.00 - $349,885.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
