Sr. Manager, Marketing Governance
Capital One, a Fortune Magazine 100 Best Companies to Work For, is seeking a Sr. Manager to lead our Email Governance team within the Enterprise Marketing and Messaging org. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take your influence, marketing strategy and analytical skills to the next level. The person in this role will lead our email governance workstream. Their goal is to develop, test and scale policies that improve both the email experience for our customers and business outcomes for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Enterprise email governance workstream. Primary focus on improving email policies so that customers receive more relevant content and lines of business are able to reach their strategic objectives.
  • Set governance vision and lead roadmapping, discovery, prioritization, and delivery
  • Define and execute an experimentation strategy, working with business analysts, and data scientists to advance our capabilities, and a broad group of stakeholders to develop excitement and buy-in for the work
  • Work with LOB partners and design/customer research to continually understand line of business priorities and customer needs
  • Work closely with email platform product teams to implement and scale governance policies with an eye on automation
  • Uphold a high standard for being well-managed and contribute to defining processes that reduce risk
  • Lead company-wide governance forums to increase LOB transparency into messaging and governance policies
  • Synthesize and implement research insights, marketing trends, competitive landscape, and macro external factors into strategy recommendations
  • Influence internal decision makers with formal recommendations and informal networking through excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Experience leading a cross-functional team
  • Ability to handle details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities simultaneously while maintaining excellent and accurate work
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrating initiative, leadership, creativity and drive for results
  • A curious mindset, ready to dig in on customer attitudes/behaviors/trends and draw implications for marketing
  • Self-initiative and data proficiency with a passion for leveraging data, metrics and insights to drive results and learnings
  • Proactivity to identify potential hurdles within a project and take the lead on solving them
  • Highly effective communication skills with outstanding writing, editing, and presentation abilities
  • Ability to partner seamlessly with Product, Marketing & Operations stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate to a variety of stakeholders, excellent communication, strong meeting facilitation and collaboration, solid attention to detail and high quality of work deliverables
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, make recommendations and gain buy-in from stakeholders


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in data-driven messaging strategy
  • At least 5 years of experience in planning, execution, and analysis of marketing programs
  • At least 5 years of experience in leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Management
  • 5+ years of experience in financial marketing

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $172,900 - $197,300 for Sr. Manager, Marketing
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
