The Opportunity:
As a Senior Manager of Ad Sales and Capability Development you will be a driving force in our mission to drive revenue and support the growth of our top brands. This role presents a unique opportunity for you to leverage your expertise in selling ads to clients and help to drive foundational capability development as we stand up our advertising team(s). This position will also work collaboratively with Marketing and many other teams to craft comprehensive plans tailored to our key clients' needs. This role will report directly to the Director of Growth.
The Impact You'll Make :
In this influential role, you'll leave a mark on our ad sales strategy development and revenue objectives, making substantial contributions such as:

  • Strategic Client Acquisition & Engagement: Cultivate robust relationships with top clients by diving deep into their requirements, ensuring a profound understanding that translates into bespoke advertising solutions, delivering presentations with your solutions, and securing ad sales.
  • Capability Building : Take the lead in enhancing our ad sales capabilities. Not only will you personally drive ad sales, but you'll also curate comprehensive playbooks for team members on how to sell to top brands and develop ad sales strategy for top partner brands. You will help create a process to field inbound request from partner brands, turning leads into a pipeline, into results. This requires the ability to operate in ambiguity with autonomy, and have a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Holistic Planning : Collaborate with marketing teams to architect holistic plans, aligning seamlessly with clients' objectives and paving the way for a cohesive and effective advertising, promotion, and co-marketing strategies to take shape as one cohesive client plan.
  • Team Leadership : This role will not have any direct reports, but will serve as a team leader, working cross-functionally with dozens of teammates. In this capacity, this role will be responsible for offering support during preparation and sales calls, and serving as the Subject Matter Expert for ad sales for our top customers.
  • Market Research and Analysis : This individual will be responsible for staying informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes, and must be capable of bringing those insights to action by adapting sales strategies accordingly.
  • Proposal and Presentation Creation : Developing compelling advertising proposals and presentations to pitch to clients.
  • Campaign Management & Analysis : This role will be responsible for overseeing the execution of advertising campaigns, reviewing results of campaigns, and suggesting campaign optimization to clients that will both increase ad sales revenue and deliver greater ROI to advertisers.
  • Goal Forecast & Management : This position will be responsible for annual sales goals, and must develop strategies to achieve these goals, tracking updates, projections, concessions, etc. accordingly. This will require a degree of financial acumen, forecasting, and project management.
  • Client Satisfaction : In this client facing role, you must ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client concerns and maintaining a positive client experience.
  • Adherence to Policies and Regulations : This role must ensure that all advertising activities comply with relevant policies and regulations.


What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's degree required in related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in Ad Sales, Ad Operations, Ad Strategy and Capability development, Client Managment, or Project Managment
  • Proven Ad Sales Experience : Showcase your expertise with a wealth of ad sales experience, ideally within the same industry.
  • Leadership Skills : Exemplify seasoned leadership, demonstrating the ability to navigate autonomously through ambiguous situations, steering initiatives, and inspiring a high-performing team.
  • Analytical Process : Exhibit a strong ability to analyze data, translating insights into strategic recommendations that drive informed decision-making in the dynamic field of ad sales.
  • Client-Facing Excellence : Demonstrate proficiency in preparing for and leading client-facing meetings, presenting compelling solutions, and building trust through effective communication.
  • Collaborative Approach : Showcase your aptitude for working collaboratively across various internal parts of the company, fostering strong relationships and ensuring a seamless flow of information and resources.

New York Salary Range: $141k-211k
The Base Pay component of our Total Rewards package is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: job responsibilities, location, experience and, education/certifications. In addition to the pay component, this role may be eligible for equity and benefits as part of the Total Rewards package. The Total Rewards package will be determined at the time a contingent offer is made.
