The Role

EquityZen is a financial technology company, backed by leading venture and private equity investors. We are looking for a collaborative, organized and diligent, to support the build-out and improve the infrastructure and security posture underlying an industry-defining pre-IPO SaaS investment platform.

  • Deploy and manage applications running on AWS and Kubernetes
  • Maintain and improve CI / CD, monitoring, and other infrastructure tooling
  • Implement and monitor security measures such as firewalls, antivirus software, encryption methods, and access controls for the protection of systems, networks, and information
  • Lead investigation and response to security incidents and maintain a playbook for the same
  • Collaborate with engineers to integrate security into development and testing phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineers to ideate, design, and implement infrastructure solutions that are used by our clients and internal teams
  • Collect and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Document DevSecOps processes, procedures, and configurations
  • Introduce improvements to our stack, end-user experience, business processes, and workflows via rapid prototypes / proof-of-concepts
  • Monitor and respond efficiently to on-site and remote IT requests from employees, providing problem resolution either in person, Slack or via remote access
  • Assist People Operations in onboarding and offboarding employees and contractors
  • Lead system administration and maintenance tasks, such as software installs, updates, backups, and security patches


  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience supporting application deployments to AWS, Kubernetes, or another cloud solution
  • Proficient operating, deploying and supporting containerization technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Proficient developing in Golang and Python
  • Experience with the HashiCorp stack, especially defining infrastructure-as-code with Terraform
  • Proficient creating and maintaining CI / CD pipelines with CircleCI /Jenkins
  • Experience working on a fast-paced, lean organization that maintains high level of accountability
  • Able to take high-level requests, break them down into digestible tasks, and own them to completion
  • In-depth understanding of security protocols, authentication, authorization, and security
  • Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Broad experience of IT with basic understanding of Networks, Servers, Audio/Visual, Smart Devices and Telecoms


  • Experience deploying and managing Django-based Python applications
  • Experience with secret management / zero-trust models
  • Experience with self-hosted Kubernetes clusters using tools such as KOPS
  • Security first mindset
  • Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, System Administrator, or similar role
  • Experience in a regulatory environment understanding compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.

$170,000 - $190,000
