Schrödinger seeks a Sr. Associate/Principal Associate, Strategic Finance to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods.

As a member of our Business Development and Strategic Finance team, you’ll play a critical role in contributing to analysis supporting the company’s strategic direction and long-term financial opportunity. You will partner with R&D and finance leadership to develop scenarios for Schrödinger’s long-range plan, evaluate the return on investment for internal development and BD decisions, and help optimize the company’s capital deployment to maximize shareholder value. This role will report to the Vice President of Strategic Finance.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the VP of Strategic Finance in coordinating, planning, leading, and producing Long Range Plans (LRPs)
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, including decisions for the company’s internal asset portfolio (e.g., value/ROI of progressing internal assets), as well as potential BD/collaborations
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis that contributes to strategic decisions (e.g., financing, outlicensing, new market entry)
  • Partner with other areas of Finance (e.g., FP&A team) to align annual and long-range plans
  • Contribute to presentations and analysis for our Executive Leadership team and our Board

What you should have:

  • At least five years of finance experience, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry or in a related field (e.g., equity research, investment banking) supporting biopharma clients
  • A robust background in and understanding of financial statements, free cash flow modeling, NPV, and IRR analysis
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills

Estimated base salary range: $100,000 - $150,000. Actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs.
