As a Software Engineer II, Frontend you will focus on building experiences for our core streaming products, pushing the boundaries of what is possible on the client as part of our Web Player team. This team is responsible for creating, owning, and supporting our various playback libraries. We support Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, ABC, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and all of our entertainment and streaming properties by building inner-source libraries that deliver video playback!

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build functionality at the core of our internal video libraries.
  • Prototype new features and own delivery from development to production.
  • Partner with other engineering teams to craft solutions at scale
  • Write user documentation and automated tests.
  • Review code and pull requests to ensure product and design specifications are met.
  • Grow an inclusive team culture built around positive intent.


Qualifications:

  • Understanding of front-end web development technologies and principles.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating
  • Experience using modern web technologies and APIs.
  • Understanding of open source principles and patterns as they pertain to collaborative development.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Driven and self motivated
  • Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience


Required Education:

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent.


The hiring range for this position in California is $114,900 to $154,100 per year and in New York and Washington is $120,300 to $161,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
