The role involves designing and implementing solutions for a highly scalable, fault-tolerant KPI and Evidence Management platforms. Compliance Engineering is part of the Information Security organization and enables the organization to scale through tooling and automation to pass audits efficiently and continuously monitor key compliance controls.. We are building a continuous monitoring platform to proactively monitor Datadog's security controls, identify and mitigate control deviations to provide greater assurance to our customers. Datadog is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Compliance Engineering team. You will be joining other fullstack and backend engineers on the team and will help build the continuous compliance platform as well as add features and support the existing solutions. You will work on Python, Go, Postgres, Cassandra, etc. on the backend.

What You'll Do: .

  • Design and implement solutions for a highly scalable , fault tolerant KPI and Evidence Management platforms
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and users to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and frameworks to achieve optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Work closely with other team members on design and architecture decisions.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of your code to ensure accuracy, reliability and optimal performance for your solutions.
  • Raise security and compliance awareness within Datadog and advocate best practices for compliance across other Engineering teams.
  • Support ad-hoc audit requests for evidence and convert it into an automated continuous monitoring solution.


Who You Are:

  • You have passion and demonstrated experience in designing, building, and managing distributed systems, microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
  • You have strong problem-solving abilities and a meticulous approach to architectural design and implementation.
  • You have a deep understanding of cloud platforms ( AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies.
  • You have strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Java etc.
  • You are someone that enjoys mentoring other engineers and collaborating with stakeholders and customers.
  • You value code simplicity, performance and details
  • You have strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • You are an accountable team player that likes to get things done
  • You want to work in a fast, high growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers
  • You have a BS/MS/PhD in a Computer Science, Engineering or related scientific field or equivalent experience

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
