About The Role

Valo is looking for an initially Front-end focused Full-stack Software Engineer 2 to join our Platform Engineering team to build our large-scale computational platform for drug discovery. You will collaborate on a cross-functional team of software and Machine Learning engineers to rearchitect and scale our state-of-the-art computational chemistry system for both our external partnership and internal drug programs. In addition, you will be working closely with our Data Science and Medicinal Chemistry teams to reinvent the process of discovering new drug candidates. Our tech stack is a combination of React, Python, and Java, all running on AWS.

What You’ll Do…

• Work iteratively with users to design, implement, and productionize UI and backend data features
• Collaborate with data scientists, medicinal chemists and other stakeholders to drive full-stack projects in a highly cross-functional environment
• Troubleshoot and improve Valo Health’s Software infrastructure architecture
• Influence and foster a collaborative, agile, outcome-focused, team culture

What You Bring...

• 2+ years experience in software engineering
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience
• Experience building production systems in Python and modern frontend frameworks, such as React
• Experience working across the stack from the DB to the UI, with a passion for every layer
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
