About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements 

We are seeking a highly analytical and data driven individual to join the Programmatic Monetization Team at Dotdash Meredith. This intellectually curious individual will be responsible for half of our brands ad health and performance. They will partner with internal stakeholders to provide data-driven analysis & recommendations to support key business decisions. If there are any unanticipated changes in key KPIs, they will provide insights to key stakeholders on the cause. 

 

The majority of the team and the hiring manager are located in New York City and go into the office three days a week. For the right candidate, we are open to remote. 

 

Hybrid 3x a week- NYC

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Team: | The Programmatic Monetization Team

The Programmatic Monetization Team is the backbone of one of the main revenue drivers at Dotdash Meredith. We ensure that all the ad slots are healthy and deliver ads to our users, which keeps the websites free for everyone to visit. We proactively work to increase the yield of those ad slots as well as retroactively determining what could have caused an ad slot to decrease in a KPI. The team is very cross functional, working with people from sales to product to finance to data. Everyday has a combination of routine and new projects depending on initiatives that are rolling out.

About The Positions Contributions:

Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

30% Track and monitor performance of vital KPIs across responsible brands and conduct post-release assessments to ensure new deployments do not adversely impact advertising metrics. Promptly communicating positive and negative changes to key stakeholders.

15% Investigate unexpected fluctuations in advertising performance, leveraging data analysis to pinpoint root causes.

30% Provide data driven ad performance analysis of released initiatives to aid stakeholders in business decisions.

10% Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting advertising performance.

15% Partner with product and design to find ways to increase the yield of ads on our sites.

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business/Data Analytics, Advertising, Marketing, Statistics, or a related field.

 

Experience:

 

 3+ years of experience working in an analytical role (at a digital publisher is preferred). 

 2+ years hands-on experience in working with programmatic/advertising metrics is preferred (CPMs, viewability, impressions per session, etc)

 

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions and recommendations. 

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel. Ability to create pivot tables, use index match formulas, if/then statements, devise charts and graphs that convey actionable insights

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI or Looker. (Preferred)

  • Must be highly organized with excellent follow-through.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate the ability to to convey findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent at multitasking and close attention to detail is a must.

  • Proactive. Self-starter. Curious and seeks to learn more by digging in.

  • Hard worker: understands that aspirations are realized through achieving goals and making tangible contributions.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced problem solving environment and manages multiple priorities effectively.

  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation is preferred.
