This strategic work requires streamlining and repurposing technology across different business and distribution channels - including streaming, linear, and theatrical - so that technology can ebb and flow across the needs of the business.
The Media Processing & Distribution team on the hunt for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to spearhead the development and enhancement of backend systems, emphasizing scalability, dependability, and performance.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to develop and enhance our backend systems, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and performance. This role demands expertise in backend programming languages, cloud solutions, and data processing flows.
Responsibilities: • Design and implement scalable backend services using modern programming languages.• Orchestrate data streams with Kafka to ensure high throughput and data integrity.• Utilize AWS cloud services to build and maintain high-availability infrastructure.• Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance code quality through unit tests, automation, and code reviews.• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.• Design, develop, and maintain APIs and backend services.• Engage in solving sophisticated problems and devising innovative solutions.
Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in 1 or more backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, Scala).• Experience with 1 or more cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).• Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.• Proficiency with streaming data frameworks like Kafka.• Ability to design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs.
We'd love to see: • Experience with Scala (ZIO, Akka)• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Redis, ScyllaDB).• Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Honeycomb).• Familiarity with technologies such as Kubernetes• Eagerness to tackle new challenges and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
The hiring range for this position in New York is $145,400.00-$195,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
