About The Role

Humane’s Cloud Services team builds scalable and reliable backend systems to support Humanes devices as well as critical user-facing web applications.  As a security engineer on this team, you will help define the security model and controls for a brand new class of consumer devices and the services that support them.  You will collaborate closely with the system software and machine learning teams to deliver a cohesive product security story. You will own the design, implementation, and configuration of key security-focused backend systems.

What You Might Do

• Design and implement PKI/ management, and other security infrastructure services
• Design and implement device and user authentication systems
• Build best practices around IAM and least privilege for both on-prem and multi-cloud infrastructure
• Help build end-user authentication, authorization, and data best practices for a privacy-first company
• Advise other engineers and teams on security and privacy issues

Essential Qualifications 

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Understanding of security fundamentals

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS, or other cloud providers
• Experience with Kubernetes security
• Experience building services supporting consumer devices
• Experience designing or maintaining PKI infrastructure
