Who You Are
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our growing team. We are seeking candidates with expertise primarily in React and Python. As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer at Spot & Tango, you will play a pivotal role in building scalable web applications for our customers and for internal company use. You will also play a leadership role on the team, mentoring and helping to upskill more junior colleagues within the engineering function.
Responsibilities:
- Play a lead role designing and building new features for our core products, primarily using React, React Native and Django
- Define and enforce best practices throughout front end, backend, and assets repositories
- Ensure high code quality by conducting thorough testing prior to integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure web applications achieve their business goals
- Optimize applications for maximum performance and responsiveness, especially on mobile devices
- Mentor and coach less experienced developers
- Build and maintain load testing capabilities in our system
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues
- Implement security best practices to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of user data
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply them to enhance our products
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure compliance with coding standards
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
- Help us scale the company, the culture, and our products
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer
- Proficiency in React or React Native, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work
- Familiarity with Django and Python
- Experience in developing and deploying web applications
- Champaign for software testing–unit testing, load testing and integration testing
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations
- Expert understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and TypeScript
- Experience using Storybook for FE component standardization
- Solid SQL database design and management skills
- Experience with AWS services preferred
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Experience working in a startup environment, and familiarity with DTC (Direct-to- Consumer) business models and e-commerce is a plus
- Ability to find simple solutions to complex problems
- Excellent communication skills
- Dog lovers are a plus!

Hybrid Workspace
Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.
Our hybrid policy requires employees to work in-person at our New York office Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Employees are able to work from home on Tuesday and Friday.
