The Role

Our Quant Research team spans the U.S. and Europe and is responsible for building cutting-edge analytics, pricing algorithms, and quantitative trading solutions. We work at the intersection of data science, market microstructure, and financial engineering to deliver high-impact tools for our clients. 

As a Senior Quant Researcher, you will play a key role in enhancing CP+ by leveraging MarketAxess’ proprietary data and your expertise in quantitative modeling, machine learning, and fixed income markets. You will own high-impact pricing models from research through production, working closely with product and engineering partners to improve transparency, efficiency, and competitiveness in bond trading. Will you Take Us There? 

How You'll Help Take Us There

  • Build and own CP+ quantitative pricing models, enhancing existing approaches and developing new methodologies.
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to improve fixed income pricing accuracy and analytics.
  • Analyze corporate bond market data and microstructure to uncover insights that inform pricing and trading decisions.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable, production-ready quantitative solutions.
  • Drive the expansion and optimization of CP+ analytics, leading initiatives across pricing and trading tools.
  • Collaborate with client and dealer sales teams to deliver tailored insights that enhance execution outcomes.
  • Contribute to market thought leadership, producing research that shapes understanding of evolving fixed income markets. 

What We’re Looking for  

  • 5+ years of experience as a quantitative researcher within financial services.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools commonly used for quantitative analysis and data manipulation, such as R, Python, and SQL. 
  • Proficiency in using GenAI tools for coding augmentation, analytics, model experimentation and AI-assisted validation of research outputs
  • Deep understanding of fixed income market dynamics and ability to apply quantitative techniques to solve real-world trading problems.
  • Keen interest in quantitative research and pricing models.
  • Experience applying advanced Machine Learning and AI techniques (Deep Learning, Tree based models, Reinforcement Learning).
  • Undergraduate or Masters’ Degree in a quantitative field (science, engineering, mathematics, or statistics is preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-organized, team-oriented, intellectually curious, and proactive.

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $150,000 USD to $225,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
