In today's digital world, finding genuine relationships is tougher than ever. At Hinge, we’re on a mission to inspire intimate connection to create a less lonely world. We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. With tens of millions of users across the globe, we’ve become the most trusted way to find a relationship, for all.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Senior QA Analyst to join our dynamic QA team at Hinge. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in safeguarding the quality of our Android and iOS applications, driving continuous improvements, and shaping the future of QA standards across the company. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that our users enjoy a seamless experience. At Hinge, you'll have the chance to innovate, expand your skills, and advance your career as you contribute to the ongoing evolution of both the team and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Case Development: Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans and test cases tailored to the Hinge app, based on functional requirements and technical specifications.
  • Comprehensive Testing: Perform comprehensive manual testing on Hinge’s mobile applications, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, ensuring the app delivers a seamless experience to our users.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand product features, providing input on requirements and user stories
  • Bug Tracking & Resolution: Identify, document, and track defects in our bug tracking system, ensuring timely resolution and thorough retesting to maintain app quality.
  • User-Reported Issue Management: Investigate, clarify, and consolidate user-reported issues to ensure they are properly understood and addressed, while helping to establish quantitative standards for assessing and maintaining the quality of the Hinge app.
  • Communication: Facilitate cross-functional communication, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring that QA insights are an integral part of Hinge’s development process.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve testing processes, methodologies, and standards, and provide valuable feedback on product usability to enhance the overall user experience at Hinge.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of QA experience, with a focus on manual testing for mobile apps in an agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies, ensuring you can assess and verify product quality at each stage.
  • Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Bugzilla), and the ability to manage, organize, and prioritize issues effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to thoroughly investigate and resolve defects.
  • Clear, productive, and empathetic communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing you to articulate issues and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work, with a focus on maintaining the integrity and performance of the Hinge app.
  • Experience testing both web and mobile applications, offering flexibility and broader insights into testing environments.
  • Bonus: Experience with test script writing for automation, and experience in testing app usability and performance to help refine user experience and ensure app responsiveness.

As a member of our team, you’ll enjoy:

Professional Growth: Get a $3,000 annual Learning & Development stipend once you’ve been with us for three months. You also get free access to Udemy, an online learning and teaching marketplace with over 6000 courses, starting your first day.

What We Do

In today’s digital world, singles are so focused on sending likes and looking through profiles that they’re not actually building meaningful connections and going on dates. Hinge is on a mission to change that by designing the most effective app experience. On Hinge, there are no rules, timers, or games. Instead, you’ll have unique conversations over the text, photos, and audio you’ve shared on your profile. And it’s resonating with daters. Hinge was the fastest-growing dating app in the US, UK, Canada and Australia in 2019 and 2020.

Our Culture:
- Authenticity: Share your genuine thoughts and opinions directly.
- Courage: Invite and deeply consider challenges and criticism.
- Empathy: Be empathetic, communitarian and trustworthy.

Why Work With Us

We're mission-driven. While most apps think about boosting sessions and time on app, we think strategically about meaningful end results (dates and relationships).

We're culture-first. We believe in great people over process. Decisions are pushed to the front lines, with feedback and coaching provided by our leaders.
