Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted

In today’s digital world, singles are so focused on sending likes and looking through profiles that they’re not actually building meaningful connections and finding relationships. Hinge is on a mission to change that by designing the most effective app experience. On Hinge, there are no rules, timers, or games. Instead, you’ll have unique conversations over the text, photos, and audio you’ve shared on your profile. And it’s resonating with daters. Currently we’re setting up a date every three seconds.

About the Role

We are building a dating experience that reimagines how people connect, and we need a Senior Product Designer to shape this journey. In this role, you’ll leverage your visual design expertise, UX fundamentals, and interaction design skills to craft polished, high-fidelity experiences. Working closely with the Senior Lead Product Designer, you’ll take early concepts and transform them into pixel-perfect, scalable UI that seamlessly balances functionality and visual appeal.

This is an ideal role for a designer who thrives in 0-1 product design—someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, excited to build from scratch, and adept at rapid iteration. If you are passionate about crafting delightful user experiences, refining UI details, and pushing the boundaries of interaction design, this is the role for you.

This is a 6-month temp position (estimated 40 hours a week and will be paid on an hourly w2 rate) with the potential for converting to full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Define Interaction & UX Flows: Design end-to-end user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to define how users navigate and engage with the experience.
  • Shape the matchmaking experience by structuring how users explore profiles, express interest, and interact with the product.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Lead Product Designer to refine interaction models and validate them through prototyping.
  • Craft High-Fidelity Visual & UI Design: Translate UX concepts into polished, high-fidelity UI with strong attention to detail and visual craft.
  • Ensure interactions are both functional and aesthetically compelling, incorporating motion design and micro-interactions to enhance engagement.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent visual language that aligns with the brand’s tone and personality.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and brand teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
  • Align design decisions with user insights and research findings to create intuitive experiences.
  • Build & Scale the Design System: Develop foundational design patterns and scalable UI components to maintain consistency across interactions.
  • Continuously refine and evolve the design system to support the product as it grows.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/product design, with a strong emphasis on visual and interaction design.
  • Proven 0-1 experience—capable of creating, iterating, and refining new product experiences from scratch.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, Components, and Prototyping.
  • Experience designing interactive products centered on human connection, dating, or entertainment.
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving environments where ideas evolve rapidly.
  • A systems thinker who can create scalable design patterns without sacrificing craft.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience designing for audio-first or multimodal interactions.
  • Experience working on AI-driven or adaptive UX.
  • Familiarity with integrating LLMs or AI-driven interactions into UI.
  • Motion design and micro-interaction expertise.

Our Culture:

- Authenticity: Share your genuine thoughts and opinions directly.

- Courage: Invite and deeply consider challenges and criticism.

- Empathy: Be empathetic, communitarian and trustworthy.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

If you require reasonable accommodation to complete a job application, pre-employment testing, or a job interview or to otherwise participate in the hiring process, please speak to your Talent Acquisition Partner directly.
