Job Title: Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition & HR
Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid, 2-3 days/week in the office)
Reporting to: Senior Director of HR
Supporting: BDG Media & W Magazine
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition and Human Resources to join our team. This multifaceted role involves leading full-cycle recruitment efforts across all departments, including engineering, editorial, sales, and marketing, while also supporting HR operations and employee experience at BDG Media and W Magazine.
You will collaborate closely with business leaders and hiring managers to attract top-tier talent and foster a positive company culture. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities - Recruitment:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and offer negotiation.
- Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies to attract top-tier talent in the media industry.
- Conduct and facilitate candidate interviews, managing interview schedules with panels.
- Proactively source and engage candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter and other career platforms.
- Oversee vendor relationships with Lever (ATS) and LinkedIn, ensuring smooth integration and use.
- Lead weekly recruitment status meetings with leadership to provide updates and align on priorities.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience, providing timely and constructive feedback throughout the hiring process.
- Manage the offer process from obtaining approval from leadership to extending offers and handling negotiations.
- Provide guidance to hiring managers on best practices for interviewing, evaluating, and selecting candidates.
- Maintain and analyze recruitment metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of hiring strategies and refine processes accordingly.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and competitor talent strategies to ensure the company remains competitive in attracting top talent.
Onboarding and New Hire Experience:
- Lead the new hire onboarding experience, ensuring new hires feel welcomed and integrated into the company.
- Collaborate with department managers to create structured onboarding schedules and robust plans for new hires.
- Conduct new hire orientations on the first day, providing an overview of company culture, policies, and the employee experience.
- Serve as a resource to new hires, ensuring they have the tools and information needed for a smooth transition into their roles.
Corporate Programming and Culture:
- Work with vendors and agency partners to plan and execute corporate events, including team-building activities and happy hours.
- Support culture and employee engagement initiatives across the company, working to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Assist with HR-driven programs that promote employee development, recognition, and overall well-being.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in full-cycle recruitment and human resources, ideally within the media or entertainment industry.
- ATS Expertise: Strong experience with ATS platforms, particularly Lever.
- Sourcing Skills: Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing tools.
- Multi-Department Experience: Proven ability to recruit across diverse departments and fill a wide range of roles.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent project management and organizational abilities, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to resolving HR challenges.
