TEAM OVERVIEW
KKR’s Marketing team develops executive content strategies that generate brand and product awareness to engage the firm’s clients with valuable content to meet quantifiable business goals. The team builds deep relationships with clients to bridge the gap between client interests and business goals, to create innovative content strategies. The team is also responsible for consistently investigating trends and best practices to make accurate and tailored recommendations to clients. The Marketing team closely collaborates with the sales, product strategy, and compliance teams.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Marketing team is seeking a curious, dynamic, and highly collaborative Senior Financial Writer. The role will focus primarily on writing for an audience of financial advisors, private bankers, and their clients, but may also require writing for more institutional audiences. The writing will be a mix of short articles, longer thought leadership, educational pieces, and some marketing collateral, such as email campaigns, sales aids, etc.
The Senior Financial Writer should expect to participate in meetings with sales teams, channel marketers, investment teams, and product specialists to uncover new issues, interesting trends, and educational opportunities for KKR's audiences. This individual will also be expected to generate and pitch their own ideas. Partnering with marketing colleagues and stakeholders, the Writer will help manage a collaborative process and will shape a project through to completion including developing storylines, incorporating feedback, and overseeing production.
The successful candidate will understand the wealth audience, be responsive, an idea generator, and a team player.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Work with channel marketers and sales teams as needed to identify bottom-up needs for content and education, as well as with investment teams and product specialists for top-down ideas about topical features and issues
- Write thought leadership in a variety of formats, including blog posts, white papers, sales aids, and email campaigns
- Incorporate data and data visualization thoughtfully into pieces
- Keep up with trends among competitors and the press in wealth marketing in the alternatives space
- Help maintain the editorial calendar, writing to deadline, and communicating to marketing and other partners about changes in timelines
- Work with production-oriented marketing partners to take pieces from beginning to end – this includes colleagues in design, web development, compliance, and communications
- Conduct well-researched interviews with investment teams and product experts using a respectful tone
- Meet high editorial standards, including attention to informational accuracy, grammar/style, tone, and flow
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience writing for a financial services firm or a financial services publication
- Experience writing about alternative investments preferred
- Journalism experience would be considered a plus
- Demonstrated ability to write both engaging, short-form content and longer-form white papers or equivalent
- Problem-solver mindset
- Ability to keep multiple projects in different phases of completion afloat at the same time, while also keeping stakeholders informed about progress
- A positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid, and deadline-driven environment
- Ability to build trust and strong relationships throughout the firm

This is the expected annual base salary range for this New York-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
Base Salary Range
$125,000—$175,000 USD
