About the AI Team:
Bubble’s AI team is driving a new era in app development with Bubble Assist—an ambitious feature that aims to make Bubble the first platform to enable end-to-end AI-generated app builds that are truly production-ready, scalable, and deployable. Our team is at the forefront of combining generative AI with no-code development, creating solutions that empower users to build complex applications without any coding experience. About the Role:
As our Senior Engineering Manager on the AI team, you will be directly responsible for the development and launch of our new AI product, Bubble Assist. This an extremely high value, high visibility project within the company. There is already significant anticipation across our user base for the launch of this product. You will report directly to the CEO. This product will unlock the potential of no code developers to release their applications without any prior coding experience. We believe that this is a force multiplier for our company, and a game changer for the industry.
As our Senior Engineering Manager, you will focus on:

Speed and quality of delivery – collaborate with Product and Design to make our launch a success, and establish a multi-year roadmap of improvements to build a fully mature, robust offering.

Career development and hiring – we’re building a diverse team of 7 high performing engineers; help expand, uplevel, and promote them to set us up for long term success.

Cultural development – help build an engineering culture of shared success and shared failure, driving inclusion, equity, and continuous learning.

Problem solving – building a new product from scratch with an existing codebase and institutional knowledge is challenging. We will look to you to help us develop an entirely new product for our ecosystem, while operating within the engineering principles and frameworks that we’ve already developed.

Strategic collaboration - work closely with product managers, engineering managers, leadership, and senior/staff engineers to align the AI team with other product teams and help deliver results for Bubble as a whole.

Technical innovation – help us push the envelope of how easy and fast it is to develop integrated generative AI into the design process.
About you:

Most qualified candidates will be a current staff/principal engineer, tech lead, engineering manager, or senior engineering manager, with at least 2 years of people management experience. Experience managing people is required. You’ll have at least 10 years of professional experience, in addition to your management experience.

You are a great fit if you have prior experience as a leader on an AI or Machine Learning driven product.

We are looking for a deeply technical leader comfortable with a diversity of stacks. While no specific technologies are a hard requirement, we value prior experience with training and operating ML models, ML research experience, as well as full-stack web development in Typescript and Node.

Compensation:
We offer competitive compensation aligned to tier one markets, such as New York City, San Francisco, and Seattle. Our estimated salary for this role at Bubble ranges from $192,000 to $260,000. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.
Location:
For this role, Bubble is currently only considering candidates who are authorized to work in the US and are within the New York City metro area. We will provide relocation assistance to those who are interested in moving to the NYC area.
We prefer hiring people within commuting distance of our NYC office because we value getting together in person regularly. For those who enjoy working from our Manhattan office on a more regular basis, we offer catered lunches, and happy hours, among other fun perks.
