The Brand Design team at Dotdash Meredith Digital defines the brand experience for premium brands such as People, Entertainment Weekly, Real Simple, Travel+Leisure, Health and many more. We are building engaging brand experiences that excite users and amplify the voice of our brands.
We are looking for a Digital Designer II to help define and refresh brand identities across our portfolio of sites. In this role you work closely with the Creative Director and other designers to craft cohesive brand design experiences. You must be collaborative in your approach to internal stakeholders, while simultaneously and vigorously championing the consumer experience.
As a Digital Brand Designer II at Dotdash Meredith you will be responsible for doing competitive research, designing the look and feel of various brand elements and refining and iterating on those ideas for various stakeholders.
II. Essential Job Functions
Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
Design

Use requirements and stakeholder feedback to produce design assets such as brand guidelines, editorial images, and social graphics
Collaborate with Design and Edit teams

Attend meetings with stakeholders from editorial, social, video, and growth teams.

Attend Recurring Design Team meetings and other group functions.

Present design solutions and help build consensus among a broad range of stakeholders.

Participate in brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big-picture thinking while identifying opportunities to raise the bar on the details.
Process Management

Keep project management tickets up to date, communicate progress, keep files organized, follow slack channels, and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities

Help maintain cohesive expressions of visual identities for multiple brands.

Take ownership of assigned design projects, collaborate with stakeholders and other designers, take direction from Creative/Art Directors, and follow established processes to ensure smooth delivery of creative assets.

Create digital production art including photo treatments, logos, illustrations, and social media assets.

Concept and produce custom artwork as directed for various digital brand channels including Editorial, Social, Video, and Growth.

Collaborate with UX design team and Design Operations team as needed.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience
Experience: 4-7 years experience as a designer
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

Strong typography skills

Strong editorial design skills

Illustration skills

Publishing industry experience a plus

Knowledge of HTML and CSS a plus but not essential
