Our Senior Developer Advocates are technical leaders and mentors that anchor our teams. They own projects from beginning to end, facilitating collaboration and enabling Datadog's community to solve real-world problems. As software developers that understand technology, they use their communication skills to engage technical audiences with empathy and credibility. With a focus on modern software delivery practices such as code analysis, continuous integration and deployment, and ensuring software quality, this role will enable our community of developers to use Datadog to build better software.

What You'll Do:
- Act as a subject matter expert for topics related to software delivery for the Datadog advocacy and engineering teams
- Speak at conferences and meetups to build Datadog's reputation around developer experience and software delivery
- Interface with open source communities to understand problems and trends in the market and influence new integrations for Datadog
- Partner with product engineering teams to build compelling demos, and coach internal engineering teams on effective communication and presentation
- Create developer facing documentation and training materials for Datadog's SDKs and APIs to foster the growth of our developer community
- Contribute to the product through feedback (bugs or product enhancements suggestions), documentation, or code
- Identify and pursue opportunities for events, programs, and other community-focused work that establishes trust with developers
Who You Are:
- 10+ years experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner, including building and maintaining production systems
- You have significant experience in software delivery, such as implementing best practices for testing, building and monitoring CI/CD pipelines in one or more tools (e.g. GitHub, GitLab, CircleCI, Buildkite, Azure DevOps), and ensuring code quality
- 3+ years of experience in developer relations, or similar experience reaching developers through channels including written content, conference talks, workshops, live streaming or recording videos, contributing to open source, and participating in community events
- Able to communicate with technical users of all skill levels, from junior developers to CTOs, and comfortable presenting to audiences of any size
- Proficient in one or more modern programming languages and associated testing frameworks such as Python, Node.js, Java, Go, .Net, Ruby, and Rust

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
