Senior Data Architect, Platform Engineering

Squarespace is looking for a Senior Data Architect to join the Data Platform Group. Data Platform is focused on building interoperable software, datasets and processes to provide relevant data-driven insights to our internal and external customers. You will partner with stakeholders to develop curated datasets. You will maintain and extend the data analytics platform solutions, and take ownership of underlying data modeling.

You will report to the manager of the Data Products team in our NYC office. This is a hybrid work opportunity.

You'll Get To…

• Architect, build and maintain efficient data models (Conceptual, Logical and Physical) and ontology based on requirements to support multiple data driven applications
• Develop and launch efficient & reliable data pipelines to ingest and transform data
• Deploy inclusive data quality checks to ensure quality of data, monitor daily job execution, and diagnose/fix issues to ensure SLAs
• Collaborate with product manager and product engineers, data owners, data stewards and customers to implement and maintain data products to serve analytics, ML and reporting needs
• Work with other engineers to improve reliability, documentation and automation to simplify self-service support for datasets
• Develop and adopt best practices for governance of data sets with sensitive information

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience building data pipelines and API integrations using languages such as Python, Java, Scala
• High level of proficiency in SQL, including query optimization skills
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse partners to design evolvable datasets
• Experience with data modeling and domain driven design
• Experience with one or more tools for data storage and computation (BigQuery, Postgres, Trino, Kafka, Pubsub), pipeline management and orchestration (Airflow, dbt)
• Knowledge of at least one data modeling software tool such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or Power Designer.

Cash Compensation Range: $128,500 - $231,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
